Missionary Moment

Our Missionary of the Month is Amy.  For almost a year, Amy would drive past the center to go to work.  The center caught her eye and she wondered who we were.  Amy wanted to stop by but was shy.  God was drawing her to us.  One day a lady in her Bible study invited their entire group to come to where she volunteered to see what God was doing there.  Yes, that was the SAPRC.  Amy came and loved it.  Amy is now a client advocate.

Amy desires to help people in need.   She says the best thing about being at the center is that she knows she is helping babies, but also helping the moms know Christ.

Note from The Executive Director

Dear Jim,

Ruby Feb 2012

This is Ruby.  Ruby was unplanned by her mom and dad ... but totally planned by God.  The doctors told them they had a high chance of having a baby with a disability.  Mom came to see us early in her pregnancy.  She was being pressured by others to abort. They already had one daughter with a severe disability.  How would they manage with another disabled child?

Mom came to the center often throughout her pregnancy for prayer and support.  She received a sonogram and was convinced she would give this child life despite the urging of many to abort.

Ruby was born prematurely and with Down's Syndrome.  The last time I saw Mom she hugged and kissed her little girl and exclaimed, "I now have my little Ruby!"  Her family is supportive.  Dad loves to cuddle and care for his baby girl.

We agree with God.  He has plans to prosper Ruby, plans to give her a hope and a future.

Thank you for supporting the SAPRC.  Your support is making it possible to reach out to families like Ruby and encourage LIFE.

Spreading the Word with you,

Lore Cottone, LMSW
